We have experienced many decades now of having agency over our body, of being able to determine when and how many children to have. We know what that feels like. We know what that's done for our lives.
We're not going back. I don't care what the laws are. We're not going back.
Besides besides marching and and protesting, what else do you suggest? Well, [laughter] it doesn't happen overnight. It's not a miraculous what did you say?
Murder. [laughter] Just kidding. Wait a second.
She's just Don't say that. That's Oh, you don't know. They'll pick up on that.
And yeah, they picked up on it. Fonda had spent another interview insisting far-left excess was too tiny to matter. One studio gave us the denial.
The other gave us the demonstration. That is why Mars exchange hits. He needed no hidden camera or right-wing ambush.
He simply asked a progressive icon to acknowledge what ordinary voters had been watching in plain sight. the part of the country that's crazy on the left is apoplelectic that you think that there might be a slight more chance that a woman that a man would give birth. Seriously.
So, I've never heard about men getting pregnant. I've never heard about this argument. It's it must be some part of a what you call the far left that is so minuscule that I who am No, Jane.
It's not minuscule and I'm sorry you can't throw this back on us. It's I I assume it's because you are locked into media that just never never wants anyone in their audience to know anything sketchy about the blue team. Listen to the sequence.
First, she's never heard of it. Then, it must be tiny. That's not a rebuttal.
It's a disappearing act. Mah isn't arguing that transgender people deserve mockery or disrespect. He's challenging the idea that biological distinctions must be treated as offensive.
Once every uncomfortable example becomes an imaginary fringe, Fonda never has to ask whether that fringe has influence. Mar's bigger accusation is the bubble. Her news diet filters out anything that could make her own side look unreasonable.
But you know what? It's important where this is infecting medical school. So, it's affecting how people actually treat people.
And then we're into the lives [music] area and that does matter. And they've already had situations where somebody was brought into the emergency room and because they identified [clears throat] as a man, they didn't look that it might have been a pregnancy that was causing the problem and it was. So, you know, it can go too far.
And now the argument leaves social media and enters the emergency room. In medicine, kindness and precision aren't enemies. A patient can be treated with dignity while a chart still records the organs, medications, and reproductive possibilities that matter.
The sane standard is simple. Respect identity, but don't let identity erase clinical reality. When seconds matter, doctors need more accurate information, not less.
Better care for transgender patients should never require medical professionals to ignore anatomy. It was about a garage door. Absolutely.
I'm sorry that Yeah, that is No, you know this about California. Come on. No, I don't.
Well, well, I'm sorry. I don't you don't you've never heard that California is overt taxed and overregulated that we are we are a one party state where [music] there's sort of no checks on that sort of extreme leftism and that why do you think I don't for a minute consider California a state that [music] is extreme leftist? Not at all.
Not any way. Well, that shows where your politics are. That final line lands because Fonda doesn't answer the substance.
California cannot be extreme apparently because it feels normal to her. But when one party dominates, who applies the brakes when the governing coalition overreaches? You can love California and still admit it has punishing costs, heavy regulation, housing dysfunction, and an affordability crisis.
Denying any ideological excess doesn't defend the state. It proves Mars bubble argument. They became the Tea Party.
There's about a third of this country that's very hard, right? Of course they love Trump. When he left office, he had an approval rating of 34%.
So he really only had those people. Mhm. Why is he now like Tai?
Because the other part of the coalition are people who they don't really like him that much. They just think the far left has gone so nutty on so many issues. That's what they're being told.
That's what they by people like you because it's true. You think the far-left does nothing crazy? That quiet, I'm sure they do, is the crack in the wall.
Fonda spends the exchange calling the excess invisible or manufactured, then casually admits it exists. Mars point isn't that every Trump voter loves Trump. Elections are often less like marriage and more like choosing an emergency exit.
A voter can dislike him and still decide that progressive cultural politics feels more intrusive, dishonest, or detached from daily life. Calling those voters brainwashed is politically convenient and strategically disastrous. It tells them their concerns only count after elite institutions approve them.
Who is the far left? What do you mean when you say far left? I mean, I could give you a million examples.
Well, give me one. Okay. The N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N N NAC, you think the NAACP is far left?
Could I finish my sentence? Yes. You asked me for an example.
Yeah. The NAACP last year I know but you know a travel advisory today. We have them for very dangerous countries here.
Don't go to North Korea. Don't go to Iran. Yeah.
Do you know where they issued a travel advisory for black people not to go? Yeah. Florida.
Mah gets specific. His point isn't that racism vanished in Florida or that every criticism is fake. It's rhetorical inflation.
A travel advisory carries the weight of dictatorships, war zones, and immediate danger. Use that language for a domestic policy fight. And many people hear theater, not warning.
When every disagreement becomes an emergency, real emergencies lose their signal. Institutions burn credibility by spending their strongest language on every political fight. I don't think one person [music] listened to this and thought, "I can't go to Florida.
" Uh, but they just [music] they just suggest something to the average person, which I completely understand, which is, wow, do you people ever find anything that's ridiculous? I mean, I don't know. I read two papers and I That's Yeah, I maybe I don't.
I I should watch Fox News more. No, I I don't. That sounds self-aware for 3 seconds and then the door closes.
Fonda doesn't need a Fox News binge. She needs friction. Read one source that challenges your side.
Follow one writer who annoys you but argues honestly. Conservatives need the same discipline. A news diet of emotional comfort isn't information.
It's a spa treatment for your world view. The danger isn't just wrong facts. It's forgetting that reasonable people can see the country differently.
That certainly has been the history of this country was black was police who were all too willing to shoot black people. Um so defund the police though was not a good idea. And you know who mostly didn't think it was a good idea was black people cuz they want police in their neighborhoods probably more than we need them in and are.
Mah holds two ideas at once. Police misconduct is real and public safety is real. Reform can mean accountability, better training, smarter hiring, and consequences for abuse.
Defund the police crushed all of that into a slogan that sounded like fewer officers where violence was worst. Vulnerable communities deserve safer streets and fairer policing, not a fake choice between the two. But the the Republicans tried to catch the Democrats with this and they put this on, you know, they brought it up in Congress and all the Democrats voted against it.
The Democratic politicians were not for defunding the police. It's that radical fringe that has captured mo a lot of the media, academia, uh some of these cultural institutions that are not liberal anymore by my old school liberalism. The ACLU is all about free speech.
They don't really believe in it anymore. They they believe I mean and [music] one of their chief people who is trans said we I will die on this hill of banning this book. This is Mar's strongest distinction.
Elected Democrats can reject an unpopular slogan while the party's cultural brand is still shaped by activists, universities, nonprofits, entertainment, and newsrooms. Those institutions don't need to win a majority. They only need enough internal pressure to make disscent professionally expensive.
Then the old labels remain while the mission changes. Liberalism once meant defending speech you hated because the principle mattered. The moment your answer becomes, "Nobody should be allowed to hear that argument, you've stopped debating and started policing thought.
" At some point, uh, you [music] on your phone, you ordered a yoga mat or something. Your algorithm figured out you're a liberal. [laughter] Then your neighbor looked up a a truck.
You're a conservative. And and from that day forward, you got different information every day and nobody sent a notice. And so now you literally think your neighbor is insane because how could they possibly think this stuff?
But if you put your phone next to their phone, you're in different algorithmic universes. And that is brand new. This is the point every side should tattoo on its forehead.
The algorithm doesn't show reality. It shows the version most likely to keep you scrolling. Outrage is sticky.
Confirmation is addictive. Soon your feed is a political stage manager queuing villains and applause before breakfast. That explains how Fonda can miss an argument millions see constantly.
It doesn't excuse the blindness, but it exposes the machinery. Your neighbor may be watching a different movie edited by software that profits when you hate the cast. Top story.
Most voters say US can't repair severe divisions. They went into the fact that 5 years ago even during the pandemic and during the George Floyd protests even then people thought well we are going to get through this [music] and now they seem to be on the page of it's not going to happen what do we do but did you see the story yeah and I think what's new about this moment one of my teachers and friend do siden likes to say this [music] we aren't we aren't divided we are being divided by companies for profit okay and um we have our division You always have always America has always argued the new ingredient is an industrial machine that studies which argument spikes your pulse then delivers 10 more before breakfast. Calm doesn't trend.
Nuance doesn't trigger notifications. Platforms make more when opponents stop looking like neighbors and start looking like threats. Politicians and activists copy the formula because panic raises money and disciplines the base.
This is disagreement optimized for engagement and the bill is paid in trust. We have experienced many decades now of having agency over our body, of being able to determine when and how many children to have. We know what that feels like.
We know what that's done for our lives. We're not going back. I don't care what the laws are.
We're not going back. Besides besides marching and and protesting, what else do you suggest? Well, it doesn't happen overnight.
It's not a miraculous What did [laughter] you say? Murder. She's kidding.
Wait a second. She's just kidding. Don't say that.
That's Oh, you don't know. They'll pick up on that. And give Fonda the strongest case.
After Dobs, many women felt frightened, furious, and stripped of control. That emotion is real, but anger doesn't make every line responsible. I don't care what the laws are, followed by murder isn't a strategy.
It's political violence used as a punchline inside a friendly room. When the other side jokes about violence, progressives don't accept relax. It was comedy.
The standard cannot change because the icon is admired. So, I've never heard about men getting pregnant. I've never heard about this argument.
It's I don't for a minute consider California a state that is extreme leftist. Not at all. Not any way.
That's what they're being told. Maybe I don't. I I should watch Fox News.
No, I I don't. Murder. [laughter] She's kidding.
Wait a second. She's just Don't say that. That's Oh, you don't know.
They'll pick up on now. The contradictions collide. The excess is invisible.
California isn't extreme. Voters are merely told what to think. Then an extreme line appears, gets applause, and needs an instant cleanup.
Mah didn't humiliate Fonda by shouting. He kept the light on long enough for her own words to meet. Was Mah too harsh, or did Fonda need the mirror?
Drp your answer in the comments, and name the moment that exposed the bubble. Like the video, subscribe, and hit the bell. We're not here for applause.
We're here for what gets revealed when it stops.
