look at that guys a big monster mud crab whoa oh this dead mangrove stick [Music] i'm back here with a couple of light strainer it wasn't too bad oh look a feather look at that that's pretty cool put that in there for good luck there's something about exploring the mangroves you don't actually know what you're gonna see and that's what makes it exciting i think and you're definitely where i am right now i am the middle of nowhere no phone reception no nothing so hopefully nothing goes wrong that'd be just great it's like a forest
in here coming from somewhere where there's no real trees like it's pretty barren and flat and dead coming into the mangrove like ecosystem it's kind of a forest for me and that's what i really like about it it's green you don't really get to see green oh big spider web here check him out fella it's nice to meet you oh okay carry on didn't want to shake my hand wow okay where are we we're a little bit lost but uh that's [Music] okay oh okay we've come up to a little creek system here right here

bit in the sand so i need to get a stick in case he he goes i'm trying to get in there with my my hands and uh oh my god i can't believe i actually found one so i just need a stick in case it turns to [ __ ] and i need to stop him all right so this dead mangrove stick that i found just then with a little bit of a wire section up there i might be able to scoop him up and flick him up if he decides to run away i've got
one shot of grabbing him and he looks like a big black strider hey away from that mud crab i know you all right let's let's try to cam up mouth cam up figures guys quick swap up i actually forgot an sd card on my mouth cam so i've had to swap out the strider cam for the mouth cam just so i can show you guys hopefully grabbing this big muddy right oh i'm rigged up i'm ready to go i'm super excited i'm pumped hope this guy is easy to grab let's go ugh look at that

male oh man if that got a hold of you just click my ear that'll take off a finger that'll take off a nose if it [ __ ] in the nose i hope you guys can hear me with this wind i'll get over into the mangrove system away from the wind and i'll have a yarn here into the depths of the mangroves see how already the winds just died and we'll pull up right here i reckon for a chat look at that that's exactly where we'll go there he is guys the giant mud crab exactly
what we wanted i can't believe we got one this big it's super healthy buck i tell you what this guy is absolutely huge like his nippers are bigger than my hands over here where i am you can't actually touch them you can't affect them you can't stab them you can't do anything they have to be left in their entire entirety so i'm so excited i can't talk so that's why we put him in a slushy of ice and straight away the thing is now i got to put this guy down to get him in my
bag which could be a tricky little situation oh he's so good wow man look how beautiful this place is i'm actually still in disbelief i've been down here five or six times and not seen one mud crab it's been quite hard yakka so for me to get a big mud crab like that i think the last time i seen a mud crab was with brinkley and i let it go because i wasn't hungry oh what's wrong all right there we go i found him he's huge he's missing a nipper oh he hurt me he's going
for you that was awesome oh it's blinded myself so maybe this guy is good karma and plus the lucky feather huh i really do encourage you guys to do the right thing only take one or two for a feed one of those crabs will feed a bloke easy very hungry bloke and a dog a couple of big fish just in here you can see them moving they don't know if you can see them i had a little flicking rod should be on here right now good to see this is a cool little spot i might
come back here with a couple of light flickers one time see what i get maybe a three metre flat or something like that strong and i'm making our way up river now we're gonna meet the main feeder follow the feeder back cut through the mangroves and head towards the car and uh that's our plan at the moment obviously we don't need any more food so we're gonna try and get back to the beach make a campfire green strider just having a little quick break in the mangroves here thank you guys honestly thank you for supporting
me and strider and the rest of the crew and everything that we do means a lot to me [Music] [Music] [Music] uh we just pulled up we're gonna uh go make a fire here we're just having a five ten minute little rest in the shade behind my car here been cooking it's getting hotter and hotter around where i live summer's starting to sneak up on us hopefully you guys can hear me because that wind's in full swing now how cool is he how would you baby just smack me with his stingray he's got no signs
of aggression but i'm gonna dig myself a little hole here and put my fire right there hopefully a bit of wind protection because i'm gonna need a fair bit of heat to cook this crab um i'll explain more as i go and show you how to cook a crab in a campfire i'll just be foraging a few of these little sticks to get the fire ignited and that's all i should take around here and i also need some tinder i've had to go for a little bit of a wonder there's actually not much around this
area but i found some tinder it's very important when you lighten a fire with a flint that you get the best flammable stuff you can find so i spent maybe 20 25 minutes tracking this down and i've got some so you can grab that and head back to the fireplace to prep a fire down the beach out of nothing it takes like an hour of work and prep which is the most important part for five minutes of glory i think that's why i get so excited got my tinder i still have to grind that down
to make it nice and coarse so i can light her up got my small sticks medium sticks large sticks and then they're the logs that i prepped earlier so i'm ready to roll i've got my tools right here oh it's a bit rough on the old hands okay oh yeah man she's windy this firestarter is the best present i've ever got it's fan made and i really really like it i thought it was fitting if i use this knife a fan gave it to me a year ago now when we're at the perth boat show
so thank you so much okay oh my god it's such a beast come on please yes we're looking good guys we are looking really good i'm gonna smother too much here we go oh my god getting cooked [Music] we got fire baby just [Music] man i really eated this gopro what i want to do is i want to get this fire real hot make some really nice coals make a little oven out of the coals bury that crab and make the fire around it and cook that crab nice and slow nice and hot nice and
even grab this big guy out of my esky in here he's been on ice for hours he is asleep as so basically when i chuck this fella on the fire here the shell is acting as a big oven so any holes or cracks or anything will let the like juices out and it won't cook as good so you want the crab to be in perfect condition look at that beautiful and i'm going to try and cover him up a bit if not i'll just flip him into it i have a golden oh bloody oak mate

you my crap sorry guys i'm actually starving get out flies there's parts of the crab that are cooked so well there's parts of the crab that are burnt but oh wow oh these lemons to be honest there wasn't as much meat as what i thought was going to be inside these guys but the nippers and these legs are delicious oh this one's a little bit crunchy look at the size of it but the best for last all right guys i'm gonna devour the rest of this and uh there's still a little bit of light left
maybe like an hour hour and a half so after i smash this i'll put the fire out clean up camp here and i might steam back down the coast maybe go for another flick get the drone up at sunset find a nice little spot to lay the swag out and call it a night we won't be needing any more ice or anything because i won't be eating anything else well we're going to start steaming down the coast i guess we can pull up wherever we want there's no real plan so we're going to go exploring
a little bit longer until that sun's pretty much gone i will like to get the drone up one more time and i'm obviously going to bring you guys with us so let's jump from the car and see what happens oh you ready strider you see any fish in those tide ponds oh sunset's going to be nice the sun's on its way down and cruise along the beach now open beach baby you bloody beauty how beautiful is this on strata you very good strides hey and the drone's still not working and look at the sunset it's
amazing we're gonna keep pushing down the coast anyway and i'll try once more time just fingers crossed the bloody thing works frustrating into a really good day i try it again with that drone and it's just not working i don't know what's bloody going on with it didn't even realize but it's going to be a full moon tonight or very close to a full moon anyway you see it up there sun's pretty much gone man we're gonna pull up here nice flat sandy spot destroyed what are you doing that moon's gonna be awesome tonight that
breeze is gonna be absolutely beautiful there's no midges there's no sand flies no flies no bugs no nothing nothing at all please have a pillow yes oh that's sand i'm gonna move it away from the car i just got blasted by sand this time quarter to seven i feel like a nano i'm already buggered it's gonna be good with the full moon but like later on um if i can't sleep or whatever man stride i'll go for a walk in the full moon there's normally something to look at or see or whatever strider i strider
