we got along very well after a year of dating she moved into my house the relationship was getting serious and one day we talked about our future we decided that we wanted to get married and have children before we turned 30 Chelsea explained to me that after having children she wanted to dedicate herself completely to them and be a homemaker this sounded perfect to me because I work in Tech and earn a good living so I could support the family without any problems also Chelsea would continue working until we had our first child so I

thought that by then we would have saved quite a bit of money together that's why I was so surprised when she showed up with a strange contract that she wanted me to sign the document stated that I had to give her 40% of my monthly salary depositing it directly into her account to secure her future as if the contract wasn't bad enough she decided to show it to me just one day before the wedding when she knew I would be against the wall what bothered me the most was how secretive she had been about all

on sensitive subjects I told them I was better which is not entirely true because I still have trouble sleeping at night and accepting that Chelsea is gone but it's not like they can do anything about it so that's what I tell them anyway I'm trying to get back to normal because I've gone back to work I'm working from home for now because I don't feel capable of seeing my colleagues after the wedding disaster although they've told me that they understand everything and that they're not going to judge me but I guess I need more time

why they were asking me for money obviously I made it clear to them that I wasn't going to give them anything back and I told them to leave if that was what they had come for but they told me I was being unfair because they had also spent a fortune on the wedding and because of me everything had been ruined so now I owed them because my ego had messed everything up they even said that unlike my family they couldn't afford to throw that money away and since I had been responsible for the wedding being

called off I had to do the right thing the way they accused me of being selfish and blamed me made me Furious also I haven't been exactly well these weeks so I exploded I left the house and started yelling at them they were very surprised but I didn't care I kept going and going they were wrong to try to sink me further when I was already down I told them it wasn't my fault that their daughter didn't have the courage to talk to me like a normal person and had to present the contract to me

as a surprise at the last minute and if they really didn't see anything wrong with that either they had a very Twisted idea of what is right and wrong or that's how their family was they worked like that and expected me to adapt but sorry I don't like deceit and I don't take it well I also told them that I had always treated Chelsea with love and respect but the night before the wedding when we talked about the contract I realized that marrying her would have been the biggest mistake of my life and I'm very

happy to have left and if they want to HW about ego they should talk to their daughter because she's the one who ruined everything with hers even the night before the wedding it would have been very easy for her to Simply apologize and we could have talked things out I was willing to do it for her because we had been together for a long time we knew each other very well and I didn't want to give up on us but it's clear that she was willing to because she clearly said that if I didn't sign

that contract and marry her on her terms then there would be no wedding so it was obvious that her ego was more important than marrying me she ruined everything and Donna supported her every step of the way about the money I didn't owe them a penny because it was their decision to contribute to the wedding expenses nobody had forced or convinced them so asking me to give them the money back and bringing my family into this was completely unnecessary they were just trying to create drama out of nothing and I wasn't going to allow it

because their daughter had already caused me enough trouble I don't need anymore after yelling all this at them they tried to argue but I wasn't in the mood so I went back inside slammed the doors shut and told them to get off my porch or there would be serious consequences they finally decided to take it seriously when back to their car and left when it was all over I took a few minutes to calm down and then decided I had to talk to Chelsea about this because this Behavior was completely unacceptable and I needed to

control her parents I didn't know if they had come with her knowledge or not but I called her anyway and it was the first time I'd spoken to her since the wedding she didn't answer the first few times but when I didn't stop she finally answered and she sounded quite annoyed but before she could say anything to make things worse I told her what her parents had just done I explained how they had shown up blamed me for everything and we had just had a screaming match from her reaction I think she had no idea

she immediately started apologizing and dropped her annoyed attitude she told me she didn't know her parents were going to do something like that she was at work and had already told them not to bother me after they started bombarding me with messages and calls to publicly apologize she said that she didn't even agree with that and had told them to leave me alone but they hadn't stopped and she felt terrible about it it was obvious that she was very embarrassed so I didn't want to make her feel worse I told her it was okay that

they had shown up today but after this I hoped they wouldn't come back and I HED she understood that she agreed and we were silent for a few minutes before saying goodbye of course there were a lot of things we didn't say but it thrilled me to hear her voice after so long I don't know if she felt the same way but I felt weird at least this conversation didn't end badly and we didn't mention anything about the wedding although at some point we'll have to talk about it I don't know why even though we're

definitely over I feel like I still need to talk to her and close this chapter I mean after being together for 3 years I think it's the least we can do for each other but this conversation was nice I just hope that at some point she'll approach me and we can talk about what happened at the wedding in the meantime I'm going to keep trying to move forward I've started planning my future because now that all my plans from the last 3 years have gone down the drain I need to think of something so I

about Chelsea I had said that I wanted to close that chapter and that finally happened 2 weeks ago it was totally by chance I was at a bar with some friends and she was there too but not with her friends she was with a guy and at first I thought it was a date so I was really upset I didn't approach her because of that even though I had seen her and no one else had noticed but before I left she came up to me after seeing me and told me she wanted to talk by

then then the other guy was gone and she explained to me that it wasn't a date he turned out to be a family friend who was waiting for someone else because he had traveled to meet his long-distance girlfriend for the first time she was just keeping him company I felt much better after that explanation and I also realize that I still have feelings for her somewhere but I'm not going back don't worry I don't think she wants to go back either so we agree on that she just wanted me to know it wasn't a date

because she didn't want me to get the wrong idea and think that she was already dating other people when it had only been 3 months since our wedding was called off anyway we talked privately in another part of the bar for a while and my friend waited for me because of course this was important we talked about the wedding she apologized for everything and told me that what she had done was completely out of line she also acknowledged that she had tried to pressure me with the contract at a time when I couldn't refuse she

admitted that she had made a mistake and that she could have handled things better especially because we had always been honest with each other when we were together and I had always respected what she wanted she ended up crying a little and I got pretty emotional but at least we cleared everything up we said goodbye not as friends but not as enemies either if that makes sense I guess this was the closure I needed so now I'm okay with everything and I'm ready to start a new chapter without carrying the past if you liked it
