I'm sorry. I can't give you a yes. I've got to give you one of these. >> What are you going to do? I'm going to sing a little bit of rock and soul. Hopefully the people love it. I've dreamt about this as a child. Like, it means everything for me to be here and I can't wait. >> Music's music's tough. The industry is tough. Like when you get a chance that's this big like it's just like a blessing, Man. >> Hope after this day, you know, my whole life will change and we'll bring out a
lot more opportunities. >> Let's come this way. >> Hello. >> How are you? >> I'm good. How are you? >> Very well. And what's your name, please? >> My name is Liv Warfield. >> Liv Warfield. >> Yes. >> And tell me a little bit about you. Oh, well I am from Chicago, Illinois by way of Peoria, Illinois. I sing a little soul, rock and roll, R&B, everything. >> And you write your own material? >> I do write my own music. Yes. >> Yeah. And this is something you do full-time. >> Absolutely. Oh, yes. >> You've

I've been on a lot of stages and I'm just glad to be here to be able to do the music and do what I love. I just want to represent that, you know. >> Amazing. >> Thank you. >> Okay. I'm thankful. >> Oh my god. You just made our show great. Thank you. >> Blessings. Thank you. >> Was 1985. The place
Hollywood, California. Four brash young men came together to form the greatest metal band you've never heard of. That band is Steel Panther. >> Steel Panther was uh absolutely groundbreaking. Steel Panther kicks ass. These guys are rock and roll. The Spanish Clad Quartet quickly got a taste of success, but creative differences took their toll and the band never reached the level of stardom of their hair metal pioneer peers. Steel Panther vanished and the phenomenon to be quickly faded into obscurity. >> Here I am. >> We are Sean. >> How long have you guys been together? >>
We've been over 40 years now. >> 40 years. A lot of kids think that rock and roll is an easy lifestyle. It's not easy. We have been paying our dues for a long, long time. So, we're out there to win and we're going to do whatever it takes. >> The kid's got looks. >> He might have talent, but does he have a cheetah drum set right coming in right now? No, he doesn't have one of those. >> Is that your real hair? >> Not really. >> I'll tell you what, that million bucks that we're going
to win, that's not fake. Nope. Heat. Heat. You guys. Yes. >> Standing ovation and you haven't done anything. >> Well, who doesn't love country music? >> All right. Okay. Let's start with who you are, please. >> Okay. We are a band called Steel Panther. >> Steel. Let me just say before we go on, we decided backstage uh to give Sophia and Heidi tickets to Steel Panther for life and backstage passes included. >> Not not trying to influence the judging in any way. >> Okay. I want to know everything about you guys, the band, everything, please.
>> Oh, this is Spider. He plays a bass. >> Hello. >> My name is Michael Star. I'm the lead singer. >> Hello. >> I'm Satchel. I play guitar and I book all the flights. >> Okay. >> Wow. I'm Stixs. I'm the drummer. >> Welcome. >> Uh, is this something you do full-time? >> We do it full-time. We've got six fulllength studio albums out and we've got a couple live records out. >> Yeah. Live DVD, too, as well. And this is the best way to reach so many other people that have never seen this before and
teach them the ways of heavy metal. >> Heavy metal. >> And we just wanted to come on the show because we want to we want to win. I love that. >> Okay, no more questions. Thank you so much for coming on. >> Cool. Enjoy. >> Let me hear you scream. She looking good from head to toe. She licking up. She's ready to bl like raises the claws like she's ready to bounce on your ass. The only one. She's got the eyes of a panther. Looks like Satan. She's got the eyes of a sing. She's got
the eyes of a She said, "Don't be afraid. I'm having my time. Don't be afraid to run to surv. She's got the eyes of a waiting. She's got the eyes of a no escape. She's got the eyes of a Yeah. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. She can't see that raises eyes like lasers Danger. Amazing. Okay. Okay. That's how you do it. How are you? >> Wow. Wow. Yeah. I feel like I was just at the most amazing, shortest festival I've ever attended. >> Yes. >> I love this kind of music. This music
needs to come back to the forefront and you are here to bring it. >> That's right. >> I absolutely loved it. >> Thank you. >> Your voice was incredible. >> Thanks. >> Especially that that super hot meow meow that you made. I mean, I know. >> I don't think you're actually a blonde, are you? No, I'm not. But I am I am not either a real blonde. So rule >> rules Sophia. >> We never really know who is coming to Audition for us and I've seen this guy. My husband Joe hired them for his 40th
birthday and it was the best birthday he ever had. And you guys are amazing. >> We're going to win. I HAVE SO MUCH RESPECT for you for for coming on the show because I'm sure a lot of your friends know you shouldn't come on a show like this. Whatever whatever whatever I'm a great believer, you know, you just do whatever you feel You want to do. If you want more people to get to know you, you know, this is definitely going to happen. You're so talented. It's so clear that you've been doing this a long
time because you don't get good like this overnight. And I could see this in Vegas. >> Wow. Everything about that audition for me was just brilliant. >> Okay, Howie. >> Yes. Yes. >> Yes. >> It's a big yes for me. >> Four. Yeses. That's great. >> Hi. What is your name? >> My name is Beth. >> Beth, where are you from? >> I'm from Devon originally, but I live in London. >> Amazing. Okay. And you are going to be singing? >> I I am indeed. >> Is that how you make a living? >> Not at
all. I'm a pediatric nurse. I work at um a big children's hospital here in London. >> Do you ever take your guitar to work? >> I do. Yeah. When I was a student, there was a boy who wanted to learn guitar, but he had nobody to teach him. So, I said, "Oh, I can teach you." And then as I'd play with him, other parents would say, "Can you come into my kids' room and play?" So, I'd end up just going around the wards just playing for the kids. >> That's so cool. >> What an amazing
thing to be able to bring a smile because of all those faces. It made me think maybe I should give the whole music thing a go. So, this is why I'm here today. >> And Beth, are you going to sing a cover or an original song? >> Um, I'm singing an original song. >> Good. >> Um, it's a it's a difficult job and part of processing a lot of the things that Happen on the ward. Um, I I write songs. So, the song I've written today um is about what I've learned from from my patients
and their families. I'm not a parent myself, but I've got a snapshot of what it's like to love a child. Um, so that's what inspired this song. >> Good for you. >> Take a deep breath. Let's make the next two minutes count. Okay. So, this is called You Taught Me What Love Is But I'm thinking about you. If I could take your place, I'd do it a thousand times. Now there's a Ushaped hole in my life. And no, I won't be the same. You taught me to be brave. And although it wasn't for long, you
taught me what love is. No, I won't be the same. You taugh me to be brave. And although It wasn't for long, you told me what love is. For just less than a year, I never slept at all. And I'll never sleep again. If I could see you once more. You were too good for this world. This life you were handpicked for paradise and no I won't be the same. You taught me to be brave. And though it wasn't for long, you will never know how much I love you. I'm back. Just want to say
thank you so much. Hearing what you do. It puts everything into perspective. And I just was thinking about my own children. I was choked up the whole time. It was so beautiful. I think you're really, really special. >> We say on this show, you got 2 minutes To change your life. And I think you've changed your life, but also, you know, you've touched all our lives, too, with that song. >> Thanks. It was truly staggeringly beautiful and you delivered it perfectly. Well done. >> Thank you very much. Thanks. >> You have such a difficult job.
I don't know where you find the strength. Totally admire you for doing that selflessly every single day. But to also Have this kind of talent is God-given. So you literally are an angel in every way. And I'm sure loads of parents at that hospital agree. Beautiful song. >> Absolutely beautiful song. Thank you. >> The lyric is so poignant. You're a great singer. You're a great songwriter. You're a great person. So, you just tick three boxes. Well done. >> Thank you very much. >> So, we'll take a vote. >> I need to go first. I want
to say yes. Okay, good. >> It's a yes from me. >> It's a yes from me. >> Four yeses. Congratulations. >> Thank you. Thank you so much. >> Thank you. >> Well done. >> I always say nurses are walking angels. >> I was just thinking in a way you just don't want her to leave that ward Though, do you? because you must spread so much joy on the wall. >> It was amazing and so moving. >> Very special audition. >> Well done for you. >> Go and celebrate. >> All right. We'll do congratulations. >> Thank
you very much. >> Good evening. What's your name, sir? >> My name is John Courtney. >> Where are you from? >> I live in a village called Mosley, which Is near Manchester. >> Oh, okay. >> Have you brought anyone with you? >> I've got my wife and two boys, I hear. Brilliant. How long have you played the piano? >> Uh, since I was about five, I guess. >> And is that how you make a living? >> Yeah. >> So, is this the biggest venue you performed in? >> Yeah. The Padium is is like the holy
Grail to me. I used to watch the shows with my dad and this is the home of variety. >> A >> overwhelming. It's amazing. >> A man for you. >> Good luck, John. >> Thank you. This is bonkers. There was a man who had a dream that Simon Cow and his team would watch him play piano and try to Slay them on the stage of the palladium. And in the time that one song took, David would write another book. Alicia would smile at him. Amanda would be kind to him. Simon's teeth would be blinding him
if he was smiling. But nothing now could ever spoil the dream he dreamed like Susan Bole. Lightning's already. Yes, John. >> Let's see if we're We haven't been in it yet. Act is he never thought he'd ever Get to be in front of millions of people doing his thing on TV. 30 years of playing in piano bars and pubs, dodging glasses when they're thrown, being thrown out of clubs, many children ask daddy when you're coming home. This game is not the same when you're just daddy on the phone. So he sits at the piano and
he tries to get prepared, thinking he'll write it in third person so he doesn't feel as scared to sing about himself to a bunch of strangers in the Dark. But then Britain has got talent and he wants to make his mark. Paul Pots won the first year and said it was insane. The second year George Samson won singing in the ring. Lost voice guy season 12 and last year Colin Fery. So why not me? >> Yeah. >> Why not you? >> That's what he said. His youngest boy one night in bed. Dad, why not you
go and show them what you Do? And even though you'll be a wreck, at least you'll meet Anton. A we make IT >> and he thinks on stage at this stage in his life with an expensive mortgage and a pensive wife. His youngest son Alfie says, "What's it all about? If he had any hair left, he'd pull it out." His teenage son said his dad taught him to play piano, but he didn't live to see his son at the famous theater performing on TV. If he didn't see it through, imagine how Sad the look on
the faces of both his lads who always tell him, "You're the greatest showman, Dad." And they'll see me on BGT. No more third person, just daddy. This is me. >> Oh, that's how they do it. Love that. >> John, you've made me fall a bit. I don't know why. I just saw a man who kind of made all his dreams come true. >> It really was. Yeah. David, >> it was just so winning, wasn't it? I Mean, my goodness me. It made the whole audience, and I'm sure everyone watching at home just fall in love
with you. >> I love him. >> He had everything. And at the end, he had us moved to tears. This show is perfect for you. And now, I want to see you go as far as you can in this competition. Wow. >> Well done. Uh John, it was just a wonderful audition. You're somebody who's worked For years, needs a break. You'll get a huge reaction of this. I promise you, and we all want you to do well. So, I would love to be the the first I'm going home. Baby, believe you did that. >> You
deserve it. You deserve it. There's the other son. Here he comes. You got it. You got it. Good evening. >> Hi. How are you? >> Welcome to America's Got Talent. What's your name? >> Thank you. My name is Nolan Neil. >> Where do you live, Nolan? >> I'm a Nashville native. >> Nashville. >> Born. Born and raised. Yeah. >> How old are you? >> I'm 39. >> Are you a musician full-time? >> Yeah. I sing demos is like a side job to make money. >> So, what is the goal? >> The reason I took this
amazing opportunity to come here is so I could share a little bit of my story and what I went through. When I was 26, everything was happening the way I thought it was going to happen. But my dad called me and told me he was going to take his life. >> And so I hung up the phone on him. I was like, "You can't call your son and say that I can help you." And uh he's like, "Oh, son, you're never going to make it." And the next day I woke up to the news that
he had done it. >> What? >> Wow. >> I'm so sorry. >> My dad, he was a good guy, but he was just unwell. I felt like my dad loved me, but when it happened, I really felt like I didn't matter that much. I was like, "Oh, I wasn't Important enough for him to stick around." I blamed myself for sure. There was lots of memories that were good. I got to jam with him. There was good times. My dad played drums, so I was always with them at shows. I would get to like soundcheck my
dad's drums, so it was cool. I wanted to be like that. So, I went to Nashville, played on the street on Broadway, and ended up getting A record deal in Los Angeles. I was like, "This is it." And I partied really hard. Pretty soon, I started to become unmanageable because I thought I was a rock star. I got to New York to record my record and we were there and I just remember I couldn't sing because I was just so messed up. The label decided to drop me and I went back to Nashville and I
just kept downward spiraling. That's when I Got so bad that people had to step in. But I really do believe in fate and it means the world to me to have this chance. Simon, he knows real talent when he sees it. So, if I am just kind of a washed up singer, I know he'll tell me. I'm glad to be here today. Sober, very clear and focused. The voice is healthy. I'm healthy. I haven't touched the hard stuff since May 15. >> Good to see you. >> Thank you. You did this very standing up. >>
Life has been a struggle. You're a fighter and you seem to be winning the battle just by showing up, just by being here. What are you going to be singing for us tonight? >> Tonight it's a song called Lost that I wrote um right out of treatment. It's the first song I wrote sober. So >> tell me what this song means to you. >> The hook of the song is Lost for the Last Time. Um, it's about somebody who thinks that they don't deserve anything because of the things they've done. I hope that it connects
with you all. That that'll be the real win for me. >> We're all sitting here and we want to be connected. So, >> awesome. Thank you. Good luck. >> Thank you, >> Sunine. Where'd you go? Sometimes it's like you're so far away. Then I'm reminded how it used to feel to wonder if the pain was even real. I'm awaken now, but I don't know how. I'm alive. I deserve to be buried underneath black sky. Am I dreaming from my grave? or if I'm falling so far away that someday I found myself lost for the last
time I'm alive. It's to me buried underneath the stars. Am I dreaming from my or am I falling so far away? Yeah. Today I found myself. Yeah. TODAY I FOUND MYSELF. Lost for the last time. Thank you all so much. >> You have an amazing voice. >> Thank you. >> I don't think you have to be a judge to Judge this. I think it was quite clear to pretty much everyone sitting in the room today. We heard saw something pretty spectacular. I think you're a very brave guy and I think you're very inspirational, Nolan. That
song's going to really resonate with a lot of people and for whatever reason, maybe maybe now is your time. I like you a lot. >> Thank you so much. >> Yeah. I'm so happy you're here. I'm so happy that you didn't give up and um you sing beautifully. We all needed that right now. >> Yeah, you know that we all need that. >> It wasn't only a great song. It wasn't only a great voice, but we felt your heart. We felt your soul. We felt your pain. That was so moving. I think you're amazing. Thank
you for being here. Thank you for having Sophia. I it was really uh touching for me your Song. >> Thank you. >> I know very well the sickness of addiction. My family is completely full of this horrific sickness and I totally understand. And to be here tonight and to hear that song for me, it gives me a lot of hope about people that are going through your >> Thank you. Thank you so much. Sincerely, thank you. >> Let's go. >> I'm going to give you We're dead. >> Yes. Yeah. >> No, they're talking to me,
man. Give me a hug, first of all. Give me a hug, man. He was a really special guy, right? >> Oh, that was amazing. And the voice was spectacular. I mean, insane. >> Oh, here he goes. Hello. Hello. Go to the center. Welcome to America. America. Welcome. >> What is your name? >> Uh my name is Daniel. >> Hi, Daniel. And what do you do? >> I'm a singer songwriter. >> And uh what are you going to sing? >> I thought I would sing uh an original song that I wrote. So, I always think it's
scary when people sing their original songs because if you pick something that's top 40 and you're playing it, you're apt to get People tapping their toes and you kind of take that risk. >> Yeah. >> Which is a big risk. >> Yeah. >> I wish you the best of luck. >> Thank you. Where was the moment we needed the most? You kick up the leaves and the magic is lost. You did a blue sky holiday. The point is they laugh at what you say. And I don't need no care alone. Cuz you have a bad
day. You take it one down. You sing a sad song just to turn it around. You say you don't know. You tell me don't lie. You work on a smile and you go for a ride. You had a bad day. The camera don't lie. You call me back down and you really don't mind. Had a bad day. Sometimes the system goes on the blink and the whole thing turns out wrong. You might not make it back and you know That you can be with all that strong and I'm that wrong. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You
say you don't know. You tell me don't lie. You weren't going to smile and you go for a ride. You have a bad day. You see what you like. And how does it feel one more time? You had a bad day. Oh, you had a bad day. >> Thanks for having me, guys. Cheers. You know what, buddy? Daniel, now I know who you are. You're Daniel Powder, Right? >> There you go. >> They know. >> Yeah. >> Can I tell you something, Daniel? >> Yeah. >> You had a good day. >> Thank you. >> Yeah.
>> You did. >> I never got a chance to play in Canada. And uh I've traveled the world and Toured everywhere. And I just wanted to say thank you for bringing me home cuz it's my first time on Canada TV. So I appreciate it. Yeah. >> Real quick, what were you saying again? That if you sing an original, people won't know the words. And >> unless you're Daniel Powder. >> You got me, buddy. You got me. You know what? Without even talking to all the other judges, let's just vote in unison. One, two, three. Thank
you. See you again, Daniel. >> Thank you, buddy. Appreciate you. Tell me. >> Hi. >> How are you? >> I'm doing pretty good. How are you? >> Yeah, great, thank you. Uh, what's your name, please? My name is Lily Miola. I'm a singer songwriter. >> Okay. And how old are you? >> I'm 27. >> And what makes you different from all The thousands of other people trying to get, you know, noticed at the moment? >> The song I'm going to do today is an original song that I wrote and it's called Daydream. And it's kind
of evolved over the past couple years. the meaning of it for me, >> which is >> I wrote it at a time in my life when things were really beautiful and I was essentially living my daydream. I had a Major label record deal. I had a publishing deal. I had butterflies I was hatching. It was just it was magical. It was just so beautiful. And I wanted other people to be able to feel that. And so that's where it originated. And then my life flipped upside down and my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I
became her full-time caretaker. I lost my record deal during that. But I think maybe it was a bit of a blessing because it gave me some extra Time to really be there for her. >> Is she okay? >> No, she passed away. >> I'm sorry, Lily. It's okay. I really told myself I wasn't going to cry. Um, >> all right. >> Um, she was my biggest cheerleader and >> Lily, I have to ask you this. Um, are you okay to do this audition? I don't know how I'm going to be able to Make it through
a song without crying, but you know, singing was something my mom and I really connected with, and it's how I fell in love with music in the first place, her playing music in the car. So, I'm just trying to make her proud and continue to live my daydream. >> GOOD FOR YOU. OKAY. WELL, BEST OF LUCK. We're rooting for you, Lily. When we were kids in the backyard Playing astronauts and rock stars, no one told us to stop it. Called us unrealistic. And suddenly you're 18. Go to college for your plan B. What you want
is too risky. Live for weekends and whiskey. We all got these big ideas. One day they're replaced with fears. How did we get here? Darling, don't quit your day dream. It's your life that you're making. It ain't big enough if it doesn't scare the hell out of you. If it makes you nerous, it's probably worth it. Why save it for sleep when you could be living your dead dream? So scared of failure that we fail to try. Turning around before the finish line. Got to fall for a minute before you can fly. It's a day
dream. It's your life that you're making. It ain't big enough if it doesn't scare the hell out of you. If it makes you nerous, it's perfectly worth it. Or save it for sleep when you could be living your day dream. Save it for sleep when you should be living your day See, first of all, you have a a beautiful voice And uh I could feel the emotion and you know you told us a story before you sang the song about this time in your life when things were perfect and You hatched butterflies you know and
this moment right now you are that butterfly on the way. >> I think your mother is watching you tonight. the way you were like feeling what you were doing. That what it was so special about your performance. And I really enjoyed that song. >> But you you didn't put anything out when you had a deal. >> No, >> you didn't. Okay. So, you've never really tested the waters, have you? >> Mm-m. >> Okay. >> I haven't um Yeah, this was my first time putting music out and I just went for it. >> There is something
special about you. you know, everything you've been through, you told us about, you know, and I'm sure those memories came flooding back to you during that that Audition and you're thinking, I've still got to get through the song. And I know you've gone through a very difficult period. I think the fact that you've come back after what you've gone through, it says a lot about you, Lily, so good for you. >> I don't know what to say. I'm like speechless, you know? Like sometimes you have someone on the stage and you hear their voice and
just everything about you. You just light up. I see a light Around you and I don't know like immediately I fell in love with you. And for this season, season 17, I was like there's always a lot of singers on the stage and I was like, I want to give someone else a shot, but I can't help it cuz I really really like you. So I'm going to do this. I'm going to put this buzz up for you. >> Thank you. fairy tale leader of the stairwell. This is a small town for you. I think
you want to knock it out of the box. I think you're ready. >> Really? You are going straight to me now. >> What do you feel? >> I honestly I'm just what my mom has to say. >> She'd be so mad at me if I wasn't pursuing what I love. And Daydream was one of her favorite songs. So, I think She'd be really happy wherever she might be. >> Very best to look out there. Yeah. >> Onto the star. Have a chat. >> Thank you very much. >> Good luck. >> Hi. What's your name? >>
My name is Ruben Gray. >> And where are you from? I'm from Guilford. >> Nice to meet you, Reuben. >> Nice to meet you, too. >> My name's Reuben. I'm 16, and I'm a singer songwriter. I'm currently doing my GCC's at school. They're really hard. I live with my mom, dad, twin sister, my little brother, and my big sister. I started playing piano when I was seven and then writing songs when I was 10. My biggest fans would be my dad. He's heard the song that I'm going to sing, and he says he says he
likes it. That's cuz he's my dad. >> He's away working. So, can't be here Today. >> I don't I don't feel like it's right without him being here. >> He'll be rooting for you from afar. >> He used to be in the army and he did multiple tours of Afghanistan and Iraq. And now he works in the same sorts of places doing security for pipelines. He only comes back three months of the year. I'm really close to him. The first thing I'm going to do if I do well, I I'm just going to give him
a call. >> Who are you here with? >> I'm with my mom and my girlfriend. >> You? >> And who's your biggest fan? Who's your biggest supporter? >> My dad, definitely. >> Is he? >> Yeah. >> Well, more than your mom. >> Yes, I am. >> I didn't think he was here. >> You didn't know he was here? I thought He was working. >> He's gone to British now. >> He works He works away from home a lot and uh whenever I play play anywhere, he he'll always come. >> Oh, he's surprised. You surprised him.
>> All right, Reuben. Well, look, it's now a family occasion. Now, tell me what you're going to sing. >> I'm going to sing my own song called Lifeline. I wrote it about a year ago, and it's about my girlfriend. I didn't Really treat right and uh it's it's an apology really. >> Wow. >> So, did you dump her? >> Sorry. >> No, >> I don't know. >> No. Uh she dumped me. >> Okay. So, you got her back and this song is to her. >> This is to her. >> Good luck. >> Thank you very
much. Why? So, I didn't mean to bruise your heart. I'm so sorry it drove us this far apart. drowning in a sea full of tears. I thought we could have lasted for years and I still do want to live my life with you. So throw me throw me a lifine baby. Say that I'm really sorry. Pick up the phone and show me.
