Today I'll share with you a powerful technique to translate subtitles using two amazing tools: OpenAI's ChatGPT and Anthropic's Claude. With these cutting-edge technologies you'll be able to reach a global audience, making your content even more impactful. Let's go!

First of all, I want to show you how I generate my subtitles in Portuguese. I use CapCut Which has the auto captions function. Like in this example: I just select the language the video is in and press "create".

In this case, the subtitles were already created in Portuguese. Then I can just go to the "captions" section and edit the subtitles to better adapt the text. Because the automatic text detection won't always match what you actually said.

So I add punctuation, correct some words it got wrong, but overall the subtitles come out nice. Then you can export the subtitles without needing to render the video or anything. You just choose the folder you want to save the subtitles to, uncheck this "Video exporting" part and "Audio exporting" and save.

Before we get to the actual translation part, we'll have to make some modifications to the subtitle file, as we'll first do this translation using Anthropic's Claude, First I'll change the ". srt" extension to ". txt" Because Claude doesn't automatically detect the text within ".

srt" files. So it's a simple change to notepad format. I attach the file, and then I paste my prompt, which is the following: "Act as a YouTube video subtitles translator.

. . .

. . and translate these subtitles into English.

. . .

. . making the necessary adaptations.

. . .

. . so that the meaning is preserved.

" I chose English to be the example subtitle in this case, But you can put it in the language of your choice. I usually do English and Spanish. While Claude translates the subtitles, you can see a bit of its advantage, I sped up the video so it wouldn't get boring, but you can see that at no point does Claude interrupt this output, this process of returning the response.

Because its token processing capacity is quite large. In addition to the fact, of course, that we attached the file directly to it [even] in a free version. No need for an extra plugin or anything.

Then I copy the subtitles it returned. And paste them into a file with the ". srt" extension which is the subtitle extension.

And save. And then I can do the same process in ChatGPT: I paste the prompt, but in this case I won't attach the file, at least in version 3. 5, I'll paste the text from the subtitle directly into ChatGPT and it translates the subtitles.

In this example I used a small subtitle. And then it does the whole process without me having to paste parts But in this case, look, it already interrupted the process and I had to tell it to keep generating the text. After that the process is the same as the other one: You'll copy the translated text and paste it into a ".
